Please take your time to read our policies below. We appreciate your understanding and we look forward to your stay in our B &B.
Although we are not big fans of “rules and regulations,” experience has taught us that some guidelines have to be laid down. Our policies are not extreme, and are similar to what you would find in most reputable B&Bs. We simply wish you to respect them for the safety and comfort of yourselves, other guests, and your hosts.
REGULAR BOOKINGS
- A deposit equal to 2 nights’ stay is due at the time the reservation is approved.
- The remaining balance will be charged 14 days prior to arrival and will be charged to the card on file.
- If booked 14 days or less before arrival, the full amount is due upon reservation.
SPECIAL EVENTS BOOKINGS
- A deposit equal to 2 nights’ stay is due at the time the reservation is approved.
- The remaining balance will be charged 30 days prior to arrival and will be charged to the card on file.
- If booked 30 days or less before arrival, the full amount is due upon reservation.
- Special Events include, but are not limited to: Mardi Gras, French Quarter Fest, Jazz Fest, July 4th, Halloween, New Year, major sporting or music events, etc.
CANCELLATION POLICY
- REGULAR BOOKINGS: Cancellations made more than 14 days before arrival are refundable, minus a $50 cancellation fee per room. Cancellations made 14 days or less before arrival will result in the full stay being charged.
- SPECIAL EVENTS BOOKINGS: Deposits for special events are non-refundable and will be forfeited in case of cancellation. Cancellations made 30 days or less before arrival will result in the full stay being charged.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: The House of the Rising Sun B&B strictly enforces its cancellation policy, regardless of circumstances such as weather, injury, pandemic, or other travel disruptions. Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain travel insurance to protect against potential losses.
CHECK IN
- Check in is usually from 3pm until 7pm, but bags may be dropped off earlier for your convenience as long as you give us ample notice. Please let us know your arrival time so that we can be here to meet and greet you.
- Please make prior arrangements for late check in. There is no extra charge for late arrivals, but you must arrive before 9pm. Please contact us with your estimated arrival time.
CHECK OUT
- Check out time is 10am, but you may leave your bags for late pick up. Please make prior arrangements with your hosts.
SMOKING
- Our whole house is a NON-SMOKING area. This includes candles, incense, or any other open flame or vapes as our smoke detectors are very sensitive.
- Guests ignoring this policy could be evicted without refund and liable to a $200 cleaning/loss of use fee.
CHILDREN
- Although children are lovely (even we were children once), we only welcome those 14 years of age and older. Sorry!
PETS
- Pets are not allowed on the property. Miss your pets when you go on vacation? No need to worry. We have “Otis the Puggle” who loves company. Please do not feed him or let him in your bedroom. Keep your doors closed at all times.
VISITORS
- Additional persons not specifically named in the reservation are not allowed to stay on the premises.
- Visitors, when accompanied by registered guests, are allowed on the premises between 11am and 4pm with prior permission of management. The visitors are welcome in the common outdoor areas, not the bedrooms or other rooms. Management reserves the right to limit the number of visitors. Guests are responsible for the behavior and actions of their visitors.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFO
- We have free WI-FI, but Internet access is also available at the Tout de Suite Coffee Shop just round the corner, the library (a few blocks away), Congregation Café, and other local businesses.
- Our kitchen is off-limits to guests, but please ask if you need anything and we will do our best to accommodate you.
- Use of washer/dryer is available between 10am and 4pm, just ask your hosts.
- TV, DVD, radio, piano, stereo, and reading materials are available in the communal living room. Please do not take books back to your room.
- Ironing board and iron are available on request.
- Hair dryers and towels are available in each bathroom.
- Daytime tea and coffee are free of charge, just ask.
